aug 9 | UPDATED 7-18 - Annual Cruise Night at Marcus Dairy in Danbury. Show your car or just show up to see the cars. This is a no-charge event, open to the public from 6 to 9:30 pm (parking for show cars is at 5:30 pm). In addition to our club member's cars on display, you can count on a fantastic assortment of classic cars of all makes and models - especially those old Detroit muscle cars. Anyone interested in showing their car (any year, any model), just let me know via email danielp@ntplx.net, or phone (860) 628-8697. All I need is your name, an email address or phone number, and the year and model of your Porsche. Spectators do not have to register in advance, just come anytime that night. Marcus Dairy is just off I-84, two blocks from the Danbury Fair Mall.
Please note - Cruise Night is not held if it rains. Registered participants will be notified via email as early as possible in the event of cancellation. |

nov 21 | UPDATED 7-28 - Mark your calendars for this date. Notice, this year, the event is scheduled for a FRIDAY. The date has been changed in the hope that even more members will able to join in on the festivities. Friday, November 21st will be a fun evening for all CVR members.
We are honored this year to have Prescott Kelly, PCA President and CVR member, as the featured speaker. As an expert in the field, he will provide a short photo presentation on Porsche collectibles including sales literature, racing posters, factory gifts, and toys, with examples to pass around. Earlier this year, Prescott and two other experts held the 25th Annual Los Angeles Literature and Toy Show which attracted participants from around the world. A noted historian, Prescott Kelly is also a Contributing Editor to the Porsche Panorama, and a regular columnist writing frequently for the 356 Registry magazine. In addition to the speaker, the evening will include our annual Photofest contest, election of officers, annual awards presentations and great prizes. Don't miss out. Read the following information regarding ticket purchases and instructions on how to participate in the Photofest (for those who choose to).
1. Reservations must be purchased in advance, by November 11th. Tickets WILL NOT be available for purchase at the door. Ticket price this year is $30.00 per person, and reservation forms are available on the web and in Challenge.
2. Seating is limited and it is anticipated that this event may be sold out, so be sure to make your reservation early. Reservations are non-refundable after November 12th.
3. Photo entries will be accepted from 6:00 pm -to 6:30 pm ONLY. Judging will begin at 6:45 pm. If you plan to submit photos for the contest, please plan to arrive early or make arrangements to have your photos to the Crown Plaza by 6:30 pm. Just think, your snapshot could be on the cover of Challenge in 2009. Bring one photo or bring a few to be entered in our annual contest. The photos can be any size format (although bigger tend to fare better in the voting). Pictures do need to be prints for display purposes. Computer generated prints are fine as long as they do a good job of displaying the contents of the photograph. The categories for the contest as well as forms for the Photofest will be in Challenge, as well as on the Website.
What more could anybody want, a renowned speaker, delicious buffet dinner, room full of Porsche enthusiasts, beautiful photos to look at, and great prizes. What a way to wrap up a fantastic year of CVR activities! Hope to see you there.
